“Oh, be careful little eyes what you see.  Oh, be careful little eyes what you see, for the Father up above is looking down in love, oh, be careful little eyes what you see.

Oh, be careful little ears what you hear.  Oh, be careful little ears what you hear, for the Father up above is looking down in love, oh, be careful little ears what you hear. Oh, be careful little feet…”

You get the idea. My purpose was not to get this childhood song stuck in your head…or maybe it was.

 

There are millions of things fighting for space in our minds and hearts, radio, television commercials, billboards, tons of things we can’t un-see or un-hear hit us from every direction every day.

We do, however, have the power to choose what we dwell on. Colossians 3:1-2 says, “Since then you have been raised with Christ, set you hearts on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” 

 

Your mind is valuable. Your heart is priceless. Do not allow yourself to dwell on garbage. Fill your mind with good things. Do not be unrealistic.  Be aware of what’s going on in the world around you. But, be careful with what you dwell on.

And in Philippians 4:8 it says, “Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”

“Oh, be careful little eyes what you see…” Protect your mind and heart. It’s where God dwells.
