Nudge 22

Willpower. Oh, I wish I had more of it. I wish I didn’t let my willpower dissolve immediately the minute chips and salsa and in front of me. I know I don’t need that next bite of chocolate but it ends up in my mouth anyway.
I googled, “How do I get more willpower?” And 65,300,000 different responses came up. I am sure these responses are full of great ideas and most likely some not so great ideas. I’m grateful the people’s insight and ideas and for a place like google to go to for advice.
Somedays, willpower is harder than others.
Now, I’m not going to say, “If you keep your focus on God, you’ll have all the willpower you need.” I promise I won’t.
But, what I WILL say is willpower is a lot like our faith. It’s about focus. Reminding ourselves to be prayerful and in God’s word every day. Often each and every day I’ll forget my BIG goal of living for God alone. Something will happen to wake me up – to refocus and say, “Yes, I live for you. Your grace is sufficient for me. Your power is endless. Your love is overwhelming. Thank you for fighting my battles. Thank you for loving me where I am. Thank you for forgiving me, for dying for me, for raising again so I can have eternal life with you in heaven. Thank you for being my Savior and Lord.”
Suddenly, avoiding chips and salsa doesn’t seem so difficult anymore.
