Zoey is the best dog in the entire world. She came into our family late in her life. We adopted her from a lady who couldn’t care for her anymore. She was probably 10 when we met. She and I fell in love instantly. Seriously, I was afraid of dog. I have been bitten 4 times. I didn’t want a dog. She stood on our driveway and we looked at each other. Then she followed me in to the house. That was that. She is the sweetest thing ever. I can’t explain it. It just is.
One day I let her out like normal to go potty and she wandered into the neighbor’s yard. She came back into our yard with a whole piece of bread in her mouth. It was adorable yet very strange because someone apparently dropped a sandwich. I took the bread that I could out of her mouth and brought her inside.
She stood by the door and whined and cried until I let her out again. She RAN to find the bread. And this old girl doesn’t run very often anymore. She ate what she found and looked and sniffed and looked and sniffed for more bread. She had a one track mind to get back to that bread.
You see where I’m going with this story?
That’s exactly the way we are to pursue the Bread of Life EVERYDAY! Our main focus, our first desire….seeking after the one true God, the Bread of Life.
John 6:35, “Then Jesus declared, “I’m the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
