Nudge 39

I LOVED Summer Camp. Every year I would count down the months, weeks and days until camp. I went to Northern Grace Youth Camp in Gillett, Wisconsin and it was the best place on Earth as far I was concerned. It was literally my favorite week of the year. I learned so much and just enjoyed that special place and it’s people so much.
I remember one year, probably right between 4th and 5th grade the theme of the week was “The Armor of God,” found in Ephesians 6:11-20.
We were encouraged to memorize the verses and all the chapel times were focused on these verses from the Bible.
I love this passage of Scripture because it literally spells out how to defend ourselves from the enemy attacks. It explains how to protect ourselves from the top of our heads to the tips of our toes.
Earlier in chapter 6 Paul talks about children obeying their parents and parents guiding their children with Godly wisdom. Then he talks about slaves and masters and how we are to treat each other no matter our position or situation in life. Then, in verse 10, Paul says: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”
God is so amazing in so many ways (duh) but I just want to stress that when God tells us to do something in the Bible He always tells us how to go about it. He doesn’t leave us hanging. He doesn’t leave us wondering. We may have hard choices to make to follow Him and His commandments but the “way” to do it is always there.
God is telling us to be strong and I’m excited to move through Ephesians 6:11-20 and explore the full armor of God so we know how to be strong!
Ephesians 6:10: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”
