God is Just
Revelation 15:3-4, “and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the nations.[a]
4 Who will not fear you, Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
Our God is just. He does what He says He will do. He commands things of His people. He hates sin because it separates Him from His children. His punishments are as real as His mercy.
Adam and Eve chose sin and ate the apple in the Garden of Eden. This sin separated us from God. God sent His son, Jesus, to be the perfect sacrifice for all of humanities’ sins. Jesus came as a baby, lived, was crucified and rose again so that we can have eternal life with Him. We are no longer separated from Him if we believe. But, those who don’t believe will spend eternity separated from God. There is no grey area in this. God is just in all of His ways. He yearns for all to believe and follow Him but not all people choose Him. He is true and just.
He is a righteous Judge. At the same time He is a merciful Judge. Praise God He is just!
Psalm 75: 1-7:
“We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds. You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity. When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm. To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns. Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.’ No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.”
