God is our Intercessor.
Hebrews 7:25 talks of how He is the intercessor for our relationship with God the Father. Christ is the reason we can approach the Father. “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.”
And Isaiah 53:12, “Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”
There are times in our lives that we don’t have the words to pray. Either in grief or confusion we do not have words to utter in prayer. God in His infinite mercy intercedes for us. The Holy Spirit goes to the Father on our behalf. Who better to intercede for us than our loving Creator who knows our hearts and our struggles.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27 and 8:34, “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”
