God is Merciful
Titus 3:5, “He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.”
1. Dictionary.com says that mercy is: compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. In our sin we deserve death. We deserve separation from God for eternity. Oh, but for that mercy and forgiveness offered by Jesus Christ.
It is only by His mercy. Every day of my life His mercy is evident. And one of my most favorite verses ever reminds us how God’s compassionate mercy is new every morning.
“Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:21-23 New Living Translation
His mercy NEVER ends. Praise God today for His merciful heart for His creation.
“ But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5
