God is Righteous.
To be righteous is to be right and pure, upright, virtuous, free from guilt or sin. Of course our God is righteous. He is the Righteous One. And the amazing thing is that what Jesus did through His death and resurrection makes us righteous in the eyes of the Father. How amazing is that?
Righteous are You, O LORD, And upright are Your judgments. Psalm 119:137
“The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” Deuteronomy 32:4
The following is a quote by Richard Strauss, who says it so well, “God’s righteousness (or justice) is the natural expression of His holiness. If He is infinitely pure, then He must be opposed to all sin, and that opposition to sin must be demonstrated in His treatment of His creatures. When we read that God is righteous or just, we are being assured that His actions toward us are in perfect agreement with His holy nature.”
“As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.” Psalm 48:10
“Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.” Isaiah 51:6
We praise you, God. You are the righteous Father!
