Nudge 59

There was a magazine article a few years ago that was talking about picking out the perfect lip color. The author of the article explained that every woman should match lipstick colors to their lips. The perfect color for them is the one that matches your natural lip color perfectly. Then, when you have found the perfectly matching lipstick color for yourself look at the name of the color and this should be a reflection of your personality. Great idea, right? Shortly after reading this article I was at the mall with my sister and I was telling her about this article. We stopped at the make-up counter to test this theory. My sister found the perfect color to match her lips and it was named something like, “Raisin kissed.” Alright, that’s cute. We searched for my lipstick color and found the perfect shade. I was so excited to flip that tube over to the see the description of my personality….and the color was Beige. Beige, people. Could I have chosen a more bland color? We laughed so hard. The poor sales lady felt so bad saying things like, “Oh Honey, you are anything but Beige.” It was hilarious.

So, over that years recalling this situation, I am reminded that we have a responsibility to do our best and be our best. We all have challenges. We all have growing to do and changes to make in our lives. Right now, today, do your best. Make the change you know needs changed. Forgive that person you’ve been holding the grudge against. God has made us all so perfectly different. Work on you. Do your best.

2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

1 Corinthians 10:31, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Be your best Beige.
