Nudge 76

“My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.” Proverbs 3:21-22 is my verse choice for the year. I chose this verse as my verse of the year and it’s short but meaty. ‘Preserve sound judgment and discretion.’ Wow! This is a command. This is not an “oh, by the way, try to have sound judgement and discretion if you feel like it.” I always say, “make wise choices.” It is so important that you are wise in your decision making, no matter your age. When Brian was a youth pastor he had this whole teaching series called, “Life is choices, not chances.” It is so true. Often we find ourselves in a mess and wonder how we got there.
Don’t get me wrong. Life can throw some whammies at us that have nothing to do with our decision making up to that point. But we still control of our responses. Navigating through life is easier when we have our focus on God. The times are still hard, the hurts are deep, but the path is straighter when we decide to follow Him.
The decisions you make today can and will affect you forever. Seek out wise people. Make decisions based on sound Biblical teaching. Be prayerful. God will lead you. He will make your way obvious if you seek Him. When you ask God for guidance. He will give it to you, every time.
Make wise choices today.
