God is Holy
We cannot fathom God’s holiness. We cannot approach Him or look at Him because of His holiness. Merriam-Webster tells us that holiness means : “exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness” God alone is Holy. We serve THE HOLY GOD. He alone is worthy of all our praise and worship. The fact that we, His children, can approach Him and that He knows us, is mind-blowing. He is perfect in goodness and righteousness. There is none like Him. There is no one to compare Him to!
“And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” Isaiah 6:3
“And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.” Revelation 4:8
“I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.” Isaiah 43:15
“Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?” Exodus 15:11
“For our heart rejoices in Him, Because we trust in His holy name.” Psalm 33:21
“Be glad in the LORD, you righteous ones, And give thanks to His holy name.” Psalm 97:12
“For the Mighty One has done great things for me; And holy is His name.” Luke 1:49
Over and over and over again verse after verse proclaim His holiness. These are just a few. Notice how the verses talk about His holiness in the whole earth, as Creator, as Righteous and as our personal Savior.
